Are you a nail biter?

July 2, 2009

A very common problem people suffer from is nail biting.

This habit is kind of similar to smoking. People do it when getting nervous, being overextended or feeling uncomfortable. But it is not only just a habit, it’s a real illness called Onychophagia.

June 30, 2009

Okay guys, listen! (or better) read! This is the latest trend in nail designing: Nail Stencils. And it’s so practical – especially for such clumsy people like me who just can’t draw wonderful flowers and butterflies on such a tiny thing like a nail :D

And how does it work? See the video!

Hey boys!

Bruce Willis in "Die Hard"

This post is only for you! Because nail care is not only a women’s issue. All of you guys out there should know how much girls love beautiful and neat hands with clean nails. And not only girls. If you may apply for a job – your hands are your business card.

Consequently: today, in time of metro-sexuality, it’s more important than ever for men to have well-tended hands and nails. And it’s so simple (and cheap)!

Interested?

Hayato Shiomi, Tokyo, 2008

Hey guys! You are very funny! :D The result of my last poll: nail artists (2 votes), latest trends (2 votes) and blog owner (2 votes). Actually I want to do ONE post about the winner topic. But, however, now I have to do three posts! :) Here is number 1:

Nail Artists

Sometimes it’s difficult to come up with a creative idea for nail design. Although you have different nail polishes, stickers, nail art pens, rhinestones and whatever it’s not so easy to find an original way to use them and make your nails unique. This equates my current situation. My Solution: I check thousands of nail art sides in the Internet to find an inspiration  – and it helps!!

A couple of days ago I searched new ideas for nail design. I looked through my favorite page: nailsmag.com. There I also got the image of my “sushi post”. This page consists of a lot of galleries which present different kinds of nail designs using every type of decoration.

And one of the galleries you should keep in mind…

Hello fans! :D

Today I will present you that nail summer trend 2009: Fimo!

erdbeeren2 kiwisorangenmeloni

Fimo is a modeling lump which is also used to create toys for kids. In 1993 the magazine “Ökotest” (a magazine about health issues according to food and chemicals in products ect.) said fimo is a dangerous substance. Today fimo is tested in the USA every five years and it is not dangerous anymore since the producers changed the mixture. Thus, everything is fine. :) and if you want to know how it works: Read the rest of this entry »

My Nail Design

June 7, 2009

Hey girls and boys!

Here I have an image of a nail design I made by myself once. Regrettably I haven’t shot photos how I made it. But it’s a quite easy design.

  • French manicure in old rose
  • stick a sticker in the middle between the polished and unpolished part of the nail (a good way to conceal an imperfect french line)

I like this design although it’s so simple.  It is harmonic, romantic and girlish. The sticker I got in the chic and cheap nail online shop.

Like Cleopatra

June 2, 2009

Okay, Cleopatra bathed her whole body in mule-milk, what I will present you today is, of course, a bath for your nails :)

The Nail Bath Ingredients

  • 10 ml soap-free liquor or oil (i.e. olive)
  • for brittle nails: 10-15 drops lemon peel oil
  • for callus problems: 10-15 drops orange peel oil
  • 100ml warm water

Put your hands for 3 to 5 minutes in the bath. The warm water assists the blood circulation and the effect of the ethereal oils.
